Prior to that, Cordoba served as a general assignment reporter and substitute anchor at WDTN-TV in Dayton, Ohio. He received an Emmy nomination for his reporting of a killer tornado in Van Wert, Ohio, in 2002.

From 1994-1997, Jaciel was a general assignment reporter for WMC-TV. He additionally anchored and produced the 6 P.M. News at WBBJ-TV in Jackson, Tennessee, and hosted the weekly news magazine show.
