Marv Albert is an award-winning American sportscaster ( born Marvin Philip Aufrichtig ). He is honored for his work as a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, he is commonly referred to as “the voice of basketball”. From 1967 to 2004, he was also known as “the voice of the New York Knicks”.

The former was the Phoenix Suns play-by-play announcer before his retirement, while the latter was the former play-by-play announcer for the New York Nest.

His first marriage was with Benita Oberlander in 1965. The couple had four children together, Kenny, Denise, Brian, and Jackie but they both went their separate ways in 1992 for undisclosed reasons best known to them. Heather Faulkner started dating Albert after his split with his wife and the two tied the knot on September 9, 1998, in New York.

Faulkner who was born in October 1957 was a freelance television producer for ESPN’s Outside the Lines. The two are still happily married. some of Marv Albert’s children followed in his footsteps; his first son and the most popular of Albert’s kids, Kenny Albert is also a well-known sportscaster and he currently does play-by-play for the major professional sports league in the US and Canada (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL). He was born on February 2, 1968, and is married to Barbara Wolf. They have two daughters (Amanda and Sydney) together.

He began his career as a ball boy for the York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. He was then an assistant for Marty Glickman. He did his first calling for the Knicks on January 27, 1963, over WCBS Radio when Glickman was on a visit to Europe. Since this breakthrough, he has been the voice of the Knicks for 35 years starting from 1967 on radio and television. He lost his job in 2004 when he openly criticized the Knicks’ poor performance on air. He had also anchored MSG’s former nightly sports news report. He also appeared on Letterman’s Late Show hosted by David Letterman, his segment was called the Albert Achievement Awards.
